About

Built by an operator, for operators.

Veteran. Builder. Explorer. One person building the infrastructure to run multiple companies at once — and making it available to operators who want to do the same.

Built because I needed it

I run multiple companies — Modern Explorer (guided backcountry expeditions out of Crestone, CO), Vision Landworks (a landscaping operation), and Vision Horizon Enterprises (the tech group). That's not a résumé list; it's the shape of how I actually work: multiple things running simultaneously, a lean team or just me, a constant pressure to make every system pull more weight than it looks like it should.

The software I kept finding wasn't built for that reality. Enterprise tools assumed departments I didn't have. Purpose-built platforms for tour operators cost thousands a month and locked you into their workflows. Off-the-shelf tools half-fit and required three workarounds to close a single booking. So I built what I actually needed — a custom booking platform, an AI dispatch tool, an automated marketing stack. I built it for Modern Explorer first. Then I opened it to other operators.

"I'm not selling you theory. I'm selling what I run my own operation on — and that distinction is the whole point."

I grew up half-Ecuadorian, between South America and the States. That's an early education in crossing real distances — reading what's actually true about a place, not what you expected to find. Then the U.S. Marine Corps: infantry and intelligence. The Corps sharpened the practical side of that — building processes that hold under real pressure, operating when conditions shift faster than the plan accounts for. That mindset is in every system we deliver.

Where I'm headed: building the technology and the systems that let a lean team operate at scale — on the frontier of how companies will actually run. I think we're at the beginning of something significant in how small operators can compete, and I'm building toward that directly. VHE is part of a larger vision I'm working on, and the software is where it starts.

We run our own companies on this every day.

Modern Explorer's entire operation runs on the stack VHE builds and maintains. Bookings come in through a custom platform that replaced FareHarbor — handling seasonal tours, waivers, and payment processing. Guest confirmations go out through branded email templates. Content and social posts move through an AI dispatch workflow we call Dispatch. This isn't demo software. It handles real customers, real seasons, and real revenue.

When something breaks, I'm the one who gets the call — because it's my own company. That's the accountability structure that makes the software worth trusting.

The principles that don't bend

We use what we build

Every system ships in one of our own companies first. If it's not good enough for us, it doesn't reach a client.

We're honest about fit

If your situation calls for something different, we'll say so — and point you toward it.

We ship

Credibility is built on working software, not proposals. We move fast and we verify.

We think long-term

Today's website is a brick in a larger system. We scope for where you're going, not just where you are.

The software is the first chapter.

What drives us isn't a product roadmap. It's a conviction: we're entering a period where the infrastructure gap between a one-person operation and a large organization is closing faster than most people realize. The difference between what a lean, capable team can do with the right systems versus what they could do ten years ago — that gap is the most interesting space we've ever worked in, and the gap is still closing.

We're building into that directly. Not as a theory — as a practice. Every system we build, we run first. Real customers, real seasons, real operational pressure. The software we sell is the software we depend on. That's not a positioning choice. It's the only honest way to build it.

VHE is where we're doing this now. But the question we're actually working on runs further: what does capable look like when individuals — operators, builders, explorers — have access to the tools and infrastructure that used to belong only to institutions? We're explorers by nature. We've always worked at the edges of what's practical with what's available. This is that, applied to how work gets done. The software chapter is real and important. It's not the last one.

"We want to build infrastructure that outlasts any single product — tools that change what's possible for the next generation of operators and builders."

Growing deliberately.

Founder-led today. This is where the people building alongside us will appear — we're not filling this section with invented faces. When we bring someone in, they'll be here because they earned it.

The people who answer are the people who build it.

Not a call center. Not a sales rep who hands you to someone else. The team that builds and runs these systems has real stakes in them working — our own companies run on the same infrastructure. If what you've read makes sense, reach out. You'll hear back within one business day.

If it's not the right fit, we'll say so. That's part of the deal too.
